Emanuel and Son’s

Emanuel and Son’s

Emanuel and son’s. Today it’s “son”. Mike is a master wood worker of many fine cabinet’s here and everywhere. Much of what we see inside our business community has been crafted by Mike. “I just want to do the very best for my customers” says this modest hard working gentle man here on 4th street in Historic Downtown Fremont, Nebraska.

Disabled American Veterans

Disabled American Veterans

Located in Downtown Fremont and founded in 1985, The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18. Al Martinez, Clyde Morton, Ted Ness and others were a few of those instrumental in it’s beginning. Joe C.H. Bales, an uncle to the current commander Richard J. Riggs is honored by the chapter being named after him. In my quest to capture with photo and personal visit, each and every Downtown Fremont property, today counts over 80 now posted here and none has given me more satisfaction. Today we see James, Ron, Bill, Russel, Rex, RJ, Al, Jack, Art and Dale. Sharing coffee and donuts I felt humbled by these men. Their faces and body’s spoke truth to me. They have seen and know what service to man and country really means. I salute them with pride. Thank you veterans of America.

EP Centro

EP Centro

Just south of 3rd and main street is the EP Centro grocery store. Mostly Mexican items including a meat counter in the rear. Jose understands English pretty good so we worked well together. A busy place right here in our Historic Downtown Fremont.

Twohig Law Office

Twohig Law Office

My first visit to this law office was unproductive in that no one seemed to be interested in my free promotional program for Downtown Fremont. On my second visit only Steven J. Twohig, Attorney at law was present and he welcomed me with, “why not, lets do it”. Steven was almost out the door when I arrived, he was going to pick up kids from school but took the 5 minutes needed to capture these photos. Located on Broad Street just south of Zesto in Historic Downtown Fremont.

Ice Cream Shop

Ice Cream Shop

It’s an ice cream shop, and right across from Zesto. The thing that makes this cool stop different is that it is open as if stepping just out our front doors won’t give us the same experience. Never-the-less, Reyna is smiling and ready to serve this delicate treat to us all right there at Military and Broad in Downtown Fremont.
